We’ve always tried to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. During the Covid restricted summer of 2020 we tethered 2 rescue board together, via a leash as a Covid measure to minimise potential contact. This was to assist anyone that might struggle with cramp etc. The idea being that they could simply pop onto the board and get a tow around part or all of the swim. This worked really well and got us thinking….

Let’s say you’d like to swim around St Michael’s Mount or Logan Rock (Porthcurno) but were worried about the distance, your swimming ability, maybe a long standing injury. Well, you’d book an assisted swim (which gives you 70 minutes of swimming time), you can then :

  • Attempt the swim in its entirety, knowing that you can get a tow should you get tired, suffer from an injury etc

  • Decide which parts of the swim you’d like to swim the most and get a tow around the less important sections

  • Get a tow when you get tired / take a break

  • Attempt the swim in slightly choppier conditions, safe in the knowledge that you can get out at any stage

  • Cover all of the swim in parts, over a number of sessions

  • Attempt the swim with a friend as a relay (with one member resting, whilst the other swims)

This is a very flexible service and allows you the freedom to attempt and complete swims that you may not otherwise even consider. Either book now or contact us for more info. Dates are available through the ‘Book Now’ button, additional dates may also be available on request.

Some swimming suggestions below. Cornwall has thousands of swimming options. If you have a specific swim in mind just ask.

ST MICHAEL’S MOUNT

Roughly 2.5km in length, swim duration is typically somewhere around the 60 minute mark. Best swam at 9am or before to avoid the ferries. You can swim it later but we may have to complete around 60% of the swim and then double back.

PORTHCURNO

A stunning swim, with lots of distance options. Best swum in the morning, as the car park fills up quite quickly in peak season. You’ll need change for the car park. Best swum at low tide.

CARBIS BAY

A stunner and a great option if the wind and conditions are blowing in from the south. We also have a Dash For Cash event running there for the whole summer.

PRAA SANDS

Great swim when there’s no swell and ample parking. Something a little bit different…featuring a very cool cave.

3 BEARS CAVE SWIM

Not always possible to access but fantastic little swim, if you can access the beach. Worth asking about.

CADGWITH / DEVIL’S FRYING PAN

Great option and a swim you’ll remember!

KYNANCE COVE

A popular tourist attraction and simply world class swimming.

THE LIZARD IN GENERAL

Fantastic swims on another peninsula, meaning that if Plan A doesn’t work out due to conditions….there’s always a Plan B!

HELFORD RIVER

Always a stunning swim here, in most conditions.

CORNWALL IN GENERAL

We offer swims all over Cornwall. If you’re interested in a specific swim simply get in touch.

GILLAN CREEK

Fantastic estuary swim. Swimming up a stunning undeveloped, rural river estuary. Works very well as a one-off or day out of swimming…with the Helford River just next door.
