COACHING :

We love our open water swimming holidays and more social group stuff but Tom also really enjoys getting technical. We’ll tailor an open water swimming technique session to your exact requirements, practise SwimRun transitions and technique, simply provide water safety and guidance on one-off open water swims….or a combination of all of the above. It’s your package.

Typical cost is £33 per 50 minute session for one person, with an additional ‘Swimming MOT’ option for members, where we pick apart your stroke and show you how to put it back together (through drill work) over a 30 minute session. If you come as a small group we’ll make up a package for you that will receive a group discount.

As a youngster Tom won the national run-swim-run age group title twice, as well as a number of Cornish Surf Lifesaving titles, he represented the Cornish swim team for just over 5 years and the Cornish surf lifesaving team. As an adult he represented Cornwall at waterpolo and in 2018 completed his first Otillo event in the Isles Of Scilly, coming 7th (men’s category) in the world qualifying event.

*Prices are based on the Penzance area. Any travel outside of the immediate Penzance area (may) be subject to additional charges. We can also recommend similar companies in north and east Cornwall. The easiest way to find out is to give Tom a call - 07773085427

LEARN TO SWIM FRONT CRAWL IN THE SEA :

We’ve devised a series of sea swimming sessions to get you swimming front crawl, or to go back over the basics and improve your front crawl. This course is designed to bridge the gap. In 2023 we took two non-front crawl swimming swimmers for a series of sessions over the summer. We charted their progress in the video at the bottom of the page. Book the course and then contact us to book up when you’d like to attend.

Session 1 - initial meet and greet, breathing technique and water safety / planning your swim talk. You’ll then be set ‘homework’ to get comfortable with breathing before we progress.

Session 2 - We’ll progress onto arm pull. We’ll look to start swimming front crawl with just your arms…we’ll save leg kick for later. You’ll then have as long as you need to go away and practise. Before booking the next session.

Session 3 - We’ll look again at arms and look more in-depth at the pull section and getting your catch right. We’ll also introduce leg kick and go over the principles of ‘sighting’.

The course is £75 for the 3 sessions or £65 for 3 sessions at off-peak times only (Tuesday 10am - Friday 3pm). As well as offering small group bookings, at very competitive rates. Participants need swimming caps for the course and a reliable pair of goggles. You can attend the course by yourself, as a small group or we can be grouped with people at the same stage of the programme. Wetsuits are entirely optional. The location for the swims are based on the conditions for that session. Likely swim locations would be Battery Rocks, Penzance harbour (particularly in poor conditions), Mousehole Harbour, Perranuthnoe, Carbis Bay, Penzance Prom, Newlyn…swims will always be based on the conditions, for your safety and enjoyment. Any issues feel free to give me a call - Tom 07773085427.
