POTENTIAL PLANS :

PLAN A : having been back on site, we realised that the red area on the map would be the ideal spot. It’s fairly flat, right next to the changing areas, sauna and water.

PLAN B : which was our original plan, was the yellow area. This is fairly enclosed and more private but…slightly further away.

We wanted to create an enclosed, wooden, outdoor gazebo…in a Moroccan-style. This for us would create a friendly, very social area for swimmers to relax and chat post-swim. It would also represent good value for money and a cost-effective way of creating an indoor area. We wanted to create a structure that was designed to be easily extended. So we could start slightly smaller and add extra capacity, if needed (at a later date).

We’ve included some visual mock-ups below :

  • We’d like to create a timber framed ‘building’

  • With a transparent Perspex roof

  • We saw the colourful sarongs across the roof, as an easy way to add character

  • We’d also like to include a chiminea or two, to warm swimmers up, post-swim

APPROX BUILD SIZE :

We’d initially look to create a structure of 6 x 7m in size, approx. 2.2m in height. If this proved to be popular and well attended, we’d then look at the potential of extending the length of the structure.

SAUNA :

We’d start out using the same sauna tent we’ve used on previous events. Looking to introduce a sauna horse-box at a later date. This could be moved in and out of position, when required.

PROPOSED DATES :

Sea Swim Cornwall are busy from around end April to end Sept. So we’d look to conducted most, if not all of our activities from Oct - end April. We’d be happy to line up these dates with BF Adventures and their activities.

Initially we’d look to offer one day a week, either Saturday or Sunday but predict that we’d soon be open both Saturday and Sunday. We may also look at private bookings, where possible. These may potentially look at midweek days but completely understand that this will throw up issues, if children are onsite and may not be possible, at various times.
