Tom & Jo wanted to create a distance swimming event that was manageable and safe. Their main aim was to be as inclusive as possible and allow swimmers to swim 10km over a series of swims, rather than just one. They’ve aimed to make the event more of a challenge than a race…although entrants are welcome to race the swims. With the option of bus travel from swim to swim they also wanted to promote the social side of the sport.

For 2020 they’ll offer 2 x 10km events. No 1 is Tom’s brain child, the Magical Mystery Tour. We didn’t want to make promises on stunning swims that we couldn’t deliver. So we’ll look at the conditions on the day and decide which swims we’ll do. It allows us the freedom to include iconic and breathtaking swims, like St Michael’s Mount but doesn’t leave people disappointed if the conditions don’t allow for these swims. Swim No. 2 is Jo’s baby…the 10K Big River Day. Taking in stunning swims from St Mawes and working your way up the river. Check out the world class recce day Jo embarked on during July (below).
